How to calculate percentage of marks
Put in the marks you got and the highest you could have scored, and we turn it into a percentage. So 450 out of 600 is 75%.
If your marks are spread across several subjects, add them all up first and put the total in. The second box is then the highest total you could have reached across all of those subjects.

How do I calculate percentage of marks?
Put your total marks in the first box and the highest possible total in the second, and the percentage appears straight away.
By hand: divide your marks by the total, then multiply by 100. So 450 marks out of 600 is 450 divided by 600, which is 0.75, and 0.75 multiplied by 100 is 75%.
What percent calculator should I use for a test score?
This one. A score is a part of a total, so it is the same sum whether you call it marks, a score, a grade or questions answered correctly.
If instead you want a percentage of an amount — like 20% of 60 — that is a different sum, and the percentage calculator does it.
What percentage is 45 out of 60?

If you mean converting a percentage into a letter grade or a GPA, we do not do that, and it would be misleading to try. The boundaries are set by each school, board or country: 75% might be a B in one place, an A in another, and a first in a third. Check the scale your own course uses, then compare your percentage against it.
What counts as a pass?
That depends entirely on the exam, the school and the country. Forty percent is a common pass mark in some places, fifty in others, and some tests require eighty.

My score is higher than the total. Is that wrong?
Not necessarily. If bonus marks were available you can score more than the paper is out of, and the percentage will be above 100. The answer is still correct.
