Put in a percentage and we will show the grade it falls into.
What grade is my percentage?
Put in a percentage and pick the scale your school uses, and we show which grade it falls into along with the grade points where the scale has them.
The whole scale is listed underneath with your band highlighted, so you can see how close you are to the next one up.
Grade boundaries are not universal
75% is a B at one American college and an A at another, depending on whether they use plus and minus grades. In the UK the same mark is a first. In India it lands in a different band again.
So the scale is a setting here, not an assumption. We suggest one based on where you seem to be, and you can change it in one tap.
Common questions
What grade is 85 percent?
On the American 4.0 scale with plus and minus grades it is a B, worth 3.0 points. Without plus and minus grades it is also a B.
In the UK it is a first, and on the Indian 10-point scale it is an A2. Which applies depends entirely on your institution.
Is 70 percent a good grade?
It depends where you are studying, and the difference is large. In the UK, 70% is a first, the highest classification there is. On the American scale it is a C−.
Compare your percentage against your own institution's scale rather than against a general idea of what a number means.
How do I convert a percentage to GPA points?
Pick one of the 4.0 scales and the grade points are shown alongside the letter.
Be careful using it for applications. Many universities use their own conversion table, and some will not accept a percentage converted this way at all.
My school uses different boundaries. Can I set my own?
Not yet — the scales offered are the common published ones. If yours differs, use the full scale shown here to see the shape of it, then apply your own boundaries.
We would rather show you the scale we are using than quietly apply one that does not match your school.
